Pastor Matt Braddock
Senior Minister
Pastor Matt seeks to share relevant, reflective, and theologically progressive sermons that connect the Gospel to life and life to the Gospel. He invites worshipers to identify the intersections of faith and life as they seek ways to enact their common wisdom and mission.
Matt earned a Doctor of Ministry degree in congregational studies from Hartford Seminary. He graduated with a Master of Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School and also holds a B.A from Gordon College. Along with his ministry at CCC, he is an author and teacher. His book, The Space Between, Spiritual Activism in an Age of Fear, explores the intersections of faith and public activism. He is also an adjunct professor at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.
He has extensive experience with youth programming and he is also a certified Bereavement Facilitator through the American Academy of Bereavement. Pastor Matt serves as Past President and Fellow of the Academy of Parish Clergy, an international organization of clergy serving in faith communities who value honest dialogue, collegiality, and continued enhancement of pastoral skills.
When Pastor Matt is not performing his duties at the church, he enjoys triathlon training, spending time at the gym and teaching yoga, and finding new adventures in the D.C. area with his kids.
