Because We Care offers a personal presence to support persons in the church community during times of challenge and change. In so doing, Because We Care helps members connect with one another and build a more caring, compassionate community.

Participants = Adults from CCC’s community who receive support from BWC Members
Because We Care Members
Members = Trained volunteers providing support to BWC Participants
Offer caring companionship, especially during challenging times
Keep in touch with calls, in-person and virtual visits, cards, and emails
Strive to be attentive, non-judgmental listeners
Respect confidentiality and personal boundaries
Affirm each participant’s ability to address his/her/their personal challenges
Facilitate referrals to CCC’s ministers, meals from the congregation, and community resources
Offer additional support to those grieving a loss

Grief Resources
How does one move forward in the midst of loss? How does one find hope? The answer varies from person to person but with telling one’s stories and dealing honestly with the pain, grief softens over time. Like scar tissue after an operation, however, it never goes away.
