Safe Church Training After Worship
We are delighted to invite you to worship at Christ Congregational Church — where our inclusive community of spiritual seekers honors and celebrates people of all races, cultures, ages, abilities, sexual orientations, and gender identities. Join us on Sunday October 13th at 10:30 AM, in person or on Zoom.
This week, we open our service with the following Land Acknowledgement, read by Leeann Irwin of CCC Stewards of the Earth: “We gratefully acknowledge the Native Peoples on whose ancestral homelands we gather, as well as the diverse and vibrant Native communities who make their home here today.”
A musical treat is in store for us this Sunday, with performances by the The Chancel Choir and the Acoustic Band Players (ABP) — Jim Brown, Peder Maarbjerg (leader), Barbara Pearson, John Potts, Doug Redmond, Mary Scott, Paul Scribner, and Sam Wack. The service this Sunday will culminate with a stirring postlude: “Where the Soul of Man Never Dies,” Traditional, arr. John R. Cash, performed by The Chancel Choir, ABP, and soloists Michele Esposito, Barb Coons, and Ingrid Baynes.
Mel Black, our Lay Reader this Sunday, will lead us in a Prayer of Awareness, and will read from Scripture (Amos 5: 6-7, 10-15). Pastor Matt will offer a sermon, “Treasures in Heaven” based on Mark 10:17-31. Pastor Aubra will introduce “Our Fall Season of Radical Generosity” during the Call to Offering portion of the worship service.
